Sunday 6:35 am at Ann St, the place
was deserted and I wandered up towards the platform to find Luke,
Scott, Mat, Mick and Anthony having a yarn. The surf was poor, a lumpy
2ft with not a soul in the water. Luckily Daryl had checked out the
beach breaks on his way south and at his advice we headed up to 11 at
Kawana. The banks were ok although there was a good crowd of
assorted short boards and mals all vying for the small peaks.
Daryl reckoned all we needed was a paddle board to complete the
collection no sooner than he uttered those words than a paddle board
magically appeared on the outer bank!
At least it was warm, only rashies needed.

Down
to business 1st draw, Daryl, Luke, Mat and Byron. Daryl parked himself
in the middle of the pack where he was quite content to bristle at the
crowd and dodge traffic each wave he caught. Luke and Byron were
content on the fringes. Sometimes the fringes got a little
congested as well. Luke had a good run of waves while Byron struggled
to find a decent wave. Mat couldn't buy a wave either. The heat
finished Daryl, Luke, Byron and Matt. The next round was Anthony, Mick
and Scott. Scott was quickly into action and seemed to find the best
waves. Anthony kept finding closeouts.

Scott (wave magnet) - ... bottom turn ... and SLASH !!
woohoo !
The final results :
1. Scott
2. Daryl
3. Luke
4. Anthony
After
the comp we all went out for a free surf all agreed it was a good day,
with lots of delightful scenery when the waves were wanting.
cheers,
Byron
thanks to Byron, Scott, Rhys and Matt for pointing the cameras

Someone is hiding in there - Scott perhaps ?
